Roy Valdez has over 22 years of experience in workforce development. He started his career with the Idaho Department of Labor in 1994 and has served in several senior and executive level positions. Roy worked for the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, D.C. in 1998–1999. Most recently he served as Deputy Director for the workforce development division. In this capacity, he supervised 25 American Job Centers with over 300 employees, providing a broad array of employment services for job seekers and employers. Roy now oversees all workforce administration staff responsible for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act implementation, grant administration, human resources, facilities management, and a project management office.
Roy firmly believes in providing great customer service, increasing capacity of our staff through training and career development, and always being great stewards of our financial resources and public trust.
Roy completed the Idaho Certified Public Manager program in December 2002. He received his education from Boise State University and the University of Texas-Pan American.
