Glen Forman, Deputy Chief of the Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) for the State of California Department of Industrual Relations, started with DAS in 1996. Entering state service as an Apprenticeship Consultant, he worked his way up to Deputy Chief by August of 2006. In addition, he has served as the Acting Chief of DAS, past president of the National Association of State and Territorial Apprenticeship Directors, and has served on the Federal Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship.
Before coming to the DAS, Glen worked in the construction industry 20 years. Specializing in the plastering and cement mason trades, he worked as a business agent, financial secretary, and part-time instructor in the California Community College system for 12 years. He also served as the Secretary for the Fresno Area Plasterers Joint Apprenticeship Committee (JAC) and committee member for the Fresno Sub-JAC for the cement masons. He has also spent time working the automotive and manufacturing industries.
Glen brings vast knowledge and experience to the California apprenticeship community and has dedicated his considerable experience, skills, and energy to improving the quality of apprenticeship programs throughout California.
