Candace Edens has worked in the field of Unemployment Insurance (UI) for over 20 years. She started her career taking claims in a local office and worked her way up to writing policy and procedures for the State of California’s Employment Development Department. Candace was hired by the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, D.C. While in DC, she wrote policy and procedures for special programs, including the Emergency Unemployment Compensation program, the Disaster Unemployment Assistance program, the Short-Time Compensation program, and the Trade Act Assistance program. Candace moved back to her native California in 2013 and she currently holds the position as the San Francisco Regional Director for the Division of Workforce Security.
In her current position, she oversees staff who monitor and provide technical assistance for all UI programs, including the Trade Act Assistance program and the Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment grants.
Candace has a master’s degree in Psychology and Public Administration. She lives in the Bay Area with her soon-to-be husband and her boxer, Kayla.
